PractiCare's 7 Day Unit Dose System Our Windows software is specifically designed for use with 7 Day Unit Dose System with four time slots and four colour codes. Each card has four drugs one in each line for Seven Days. Where more than four drugs are required a second PractiPak is to be used. Medication and Dosage Changes can be resolved by replacing or eliminating a certain time slot or replacing a complete medication set. Suspended Medications or Ceased Medications can be dealt with a seal or sticker being added denoting the change. PractiCare’s Software prints the tablet name and strength in each blister row by row on the back of the PractiPak, including directions and the number of tablets in each blister. It also prints a description of each tablet or a graphic of the tablet denoting shape, colour, and markings. Using a 7 Day Unit Dose System requires less storage space and for the facility to carry less inventory. With this system their are no reusable plastic cards, the PractiPak is disposable and environmentally friendly as it is made from PET plastic and cardboard. All PractiPak Cards should be stored either in the PharmaFile or transport bin in the order of the medication round sequence. Please note: It is important that you and your pharmacist set a date for an in-service session on the operation of PractiCare Systems prior to transition. During the training session the pharmacist will demonstrate the system, explain each component and its purpose and instruct the nursing staff on the proper use of the PractiPak Controlled Dosage System.
