PractiCare offers the most affordable option for medication management in facilities and in the community.

PractiPak and DisposaPak have been developed by Pharmacists and aged care specialists to ensure that Best Practice is met.

Our Best Practice Manual makes inservice training and compliance to delivering best practice in care settings simpler and easier for staff and managers.

PractiCare offers a range of solutions for the aged care industry. medication blister packs, pill crushers, software for paperless medication rounds, medication trolleys, folders, files, racks and transport bins.

PractiCare's 7 Day Unit Dose System

Our Windows software is specifically designed for use with 7 Day Unit Dose System with four time slots and four colour codes.

Each card has four drugs one in each line for Seven Days. Where more than four drugs are required a second PractiPak is to be used.

Methods of Presentation:

1: PractiFile - each patients medications are set on
files. PractiFiles can be stored either in a locked
cabinet or at the bedside.

2. Transport Bin - all medications for a particiular
time slot for all patients are kept in one transport
bin.

PractiCare’s 7 Day Unit Dose System

is Compliant and Flexible!

Medication and Dosage Changes can be resolved by replacing or eliminating a certain time slot or replacing a complete medication set.

Suspended Medications or Ceased Medications can be dealt with a seal or sticker being added denoting the change.

PractiCare’s Software prints the tablet name and strength in each blister row by row on the back of the PractiPak, including directions and the number of tablets in each blister. It also prints a description of each tablet or a graphic of the tablet denoting shape, colour, and markings.

Why Choose PractiCare’s 7 Day Unit
Dose System?

The 7 Day Unit Dose System is fully compliant and meets A.P.A.C. guidelines for registered nurses.

Using a 7 Day Unit Dose System requires less storage space and for the facility to carry less inventory.

With this system their are no reusable plastic cards, the PractiPak is disposable and environmentally friendly as it is made from PET plastic and cardboard. The financial savings to the facility are considerable and patient safety is effectively maintained.

All PractiPak Cards should be stored either in the PharmaFile or transport bin in the order of the medication round sequence. PractiFiles and Transport Bins fit perfectly into the secure PractiTrolley which contains everything which may be needed during a medication round: PillCups, Medication Cups, crusher, liquids, ointments and injectables. Alternatively medications should be locked in a room when not being administered.

PractiCare Systems provide accuracy, accountability, safety, effectiveness and efficiency during the drug administration process. For full information refer to PractiCare’s Best Practice Manual.

Please note: It is important that you and your pharmacist set a date for an in-service session on the operation of PractiCare Systems prior to transition. It is recommended that all nurses and temporary staff be present for the in-service training. During the training session the pharmacist will demonstrate the system, explain each component and its purpose and instruct the nursing staff on the proper use of the PractiPak Controlled Dosage System.
